Charlottesville Middle School – Charlottesville, VA
Charlottesville Middle School
Charlottesville Middle School in Charlottesville, Virginia, has been transformed through a comprehensive modernization designed to create a brighter, safer and more connected learning environment for students and faculty. The expanded and renovated school brings classrooms, academic spaces, performing arts, athletics and student resources together under one roof, with an emphasis on natural light, collaboration and student well-being. Floor-to-ceiling glazing throughout the building helps connect interior learning spaces with the surrounding campus while allowing daylight to reach deeper into the school.
Press Glass fabricated approximately 15,000 square feet of insulated glass units for the project, featuring Vitro Solarban® 60 and Solarban® 72 Starphire® glass. The heat-soak-tested and acoustic laminated glazing combines solar-control performance, natural light and enhanced acoustic properties to support the demands of a contemporary educational facility. Interior and exterior-facing classroom windows further extend daylight and visual connections throughout the school.
